Yesterday, Husband and I attended our first college football game of the season! While always exciting, the weather was less than desirable. I've sat through hot weather, rain storms, snow, and pretty much every other yucky condition, but yesterday was definitely the worst. While the temperature said 93 degrees, we were sitting directly in the hot sun with absolutely no breeze...the game and company were super fun, but the weather was pretty miserable! I can easily say it was the hottest game I have ever attended.
Knowing in advance that it wouldn't be pleasant, we prepared! We lathered up with sunscreen at home and purchased 4 waters as soon as we entered the stadium (then 2 more at half-time). Luckily, our team got off to a great start and we left early in the 3rd quarter when we were up 28-0 on our opponent. I felt like kind of a wuss for leaving early, but I was boiling hot and I think the baby had enough as well! It allowed us to go home, shower, drink some more water and gatorade, and be a little more refreshed before meeting my parents for dinner. After dinner, we came home and crashed - the heat really takes it out of you. *I took my camera to the stadium, but of course, didn't take any pictures (baby brain, anyone?) - sorry that I don't have any to share!
Today, we are going to a birthday party for my college roommates' son and then to a concert tonight. I am looking forward to a nice, long day of nothingness tomorrow :) What are you all doing this Labor Day Weekend?
